My version to my senator.

Senator Gillibrand

Let this letter serve as a warning notice. Our country is in crisis and we need our leaders to step up. We elected you all and gave you money and so far we have been let down.

An illegitimate President was allowed to take control of this country and we are being psychologically attacked and every foundation is being dismantled. And now we have concentration camps being built to house immigrants.

Indigenous peoples are being told their right to be on this land is invalid. Schools and hospitals are being invaded to search for people to round up. The president is using his perceived power as a weapon against us.

We need you and everyone who has a spine and integrity to publicly call out this Constitutional Crisis. Using that exact term. Saying the actions of POTUS are illegal isn't enough, especially since he doesn't care about the law and he has many loyalist in charge or enforcing the law. And he is removing and firing people who can and would enforce the laws he is breaking.

The American people are suffering and it hasn't been even two weeks. Please publicly state the severity of the crisis we are in immediately. We are running out of time.

The time has come to get loud for the sake of everyone who voted you in. Decorum and being the bigger person is not working. The other side does everything but practice decorum and the Democratic side has been quiet and inactive for too long.

Don't let this country fall. Fight for us, or be complicit in the downfall of everything. Choose your legacy. Be on the right side of history.

I sent a version made from yours, a commenter’s, and my own stuff to Tammy Duckworth, Dick Durbin, and Eric Sorensen.

I write to you today not just as your constituent, but as an American deeply alarmed about the state of our constitutional republic. Our democracy is at a dangerous crossroads. This isn't just about individual illegal acts - it's about the fundamental threat to our constitutional republic through systematic attacks from administration and those “behind the curtain.” We are in a constitutional crisis.

Our nation's founders deliberately created a system to prevent the concentration of power. They designed our Constitution with explicit checks and balances, a framework now under direct assault. We are now witnessing attempts to dismantle these safeguards, piece by piece. This isn't about partisan politics - it's about the survival of our constitutional system itself.

History shows that democracies don't suddenly vanish - they erode gradually until a critical point is reached. As that point grows closer, I am feeling that we are increasing speed at an alarming rate toward it.

This is why I am imploring you not to use diplomatic language that minimizes our situation. Terms like "illegal" or "improper" are insufficient - they fail to capture the magnitude of what we face. We need you to publicly declare what we are experiencing: a constitutional crisis.

This is not a time for measured political calculations. This is a time for courage and clarity. Please make a public acknowledgment, within the next 48 hours, that our nation is facing a "constitutional crisis." Not just "challenges." Not just "concerns." These euphemisms fail to convey the gravity of our situation. Use the term "constitutional crisis" in your public statements, whether through press statements or verified social media channels.

We do not have 4 years or even 2 years. With the rate this has all been going, I am not confident in even having months. We have days or weeks to protect our country from the powers trying to destroy it through an illegitimate administration and their troublingly far right supporters, not to mention the “broligarchy” and its influence.

The power to preserve our constitutional republic lies with the people, but we require our elected officials to stand with us in naming this crisis for what it is. We do not have time.
