Here is another resource that I just found on Reddit. Ways to get Dems to slow things down within Congress. Just thought all might like to see it as another thing to communicate to your reps!

Thank you! Will make content and share. I can’t help but feel betrayed at the fact they didn’t try these very logical and obvious choices to begin with tho. It’s as easy as breathing for a politician. But will do! Action is better than inaction

From Washington state, I messaged Representative Marilyn Strickland and Senator Maria Cantwell via their websites. I keep getting errors for Senator Cantwell when I try to message.

I called Senator Mike Lee and Representative Celeste Maloy and left messages just now. I doubt they will do anything because they are Republicans, but I tried.

The fact some of y’all sending them to GOP when i advised not to, you have guts 🫡

Sorry, I got confused. I thought you meant to treat our Republican representatives like they were a Democratic one. I am so so sorry

what i sent to my senator

Howdy Senator Wyden,

I am emailing you because we do not have 59 days before Trump destroys democracy. We have concentration camps already being built, we have a bought out government. We have Musk walking through government doors with no consequences.

we need you to publish that we are in a Constitutional Crisis.

In the event of the worst to come, it would provide a layer of protection, lawful conflict.

It would also be like "HEY NATO WE ARE IN A CRISIS".

I dont want to leave my home, but if you do nothing, i will have to, and then soon you will lose your career because Trump will in essence fire you.

Your career will be over just as my life would be over.

AOC, Jeff Merkley, Chris Murphy, Chuck Shumer have taken the lead and will be remembered for it.

We have a list of every one we have contacted, and will track who does and doesn't do this within 48 hours.

Have you seen the world protesting on our behalf? Have you seen the urgent way people are trying to come together?

"On Tyranny", by Timothy Snyder

I am writing a version to my reps right now and would be happy to share it with anyone who's interested--just send me a message.

If you feel comfortable just share here or make a stack and I will share. I have others, thank you!

Expand full comment

I will make a stack in just a moment. The language is catered to my specific rep, so people will want to adjust it. If you'd like me to create a more broadly applicable version, say the word.

Either or, folks have been straying from mine which is a Liberty I gave so I’m sure folks can adjust yours as necessary. Lmk and I’ll share here and on BlueSky thanks!

I'll make another so it's easier for people to send quickly. I should say I gave 72 hours, because it's a Friday and I don't want anyone to be able to give an excuse about the weekend.

I'll post here with the new version.

Let this message sound the alarm. Our country is in crisis and American lives are at stake. Democrats sat by and clapped as an insurrectionist was allowed to seize control of this nation. We are now under a blitzkrieg of unconstitutional executive orders and mass firings that intentionally endanger our entire infrastructure. Aviation has already been impacted. How many more lives will it take before you use your voice? Where is your integrity? Your inaction sends only one strong message to U.S. Citizens: that you take your oath to the Constitution as seriously as Trump.

We are running out of time. Your constituents demand that you publicly declare we are in a constitutional crisis, using that exact phrase, within the next 72 hours. Your message cannot be couched with euphemisms; saying “illegal” or “unconstitutional” will not suffice.

We are begging you to publicly address this emergency and to call on your fellow elected officials to do the same. Collectively stand by your oaths. We also ask you to join Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Jasmine Crockett, and Daniel Goldman in calling for an investigation into Trump’s recent rally remarks about Elon Musk, vote tabulating machines, and his landslide win.

Voters are organizing to log those of us who have sent you this call to action, including the date, time, whether you responded directly, and whether you made a public statement. On Monday evening, I’ll update my entry with either a link to your statement or a note of your failure to act.

Passivity is complicity. Please fight for us while there’s still time.

You’re welcome to share my version, too, if it will help more people take action.
